Academic Accomplishments

Professor Sarah Marchese Simms has been awarded her United States Dressage Federation Bronze and Silver Medals, as well as the ESDCTA Bronze, Silver and Gold Medals.

Professor Simms teaches upper-level dressage classes, as well as Dressage for the Hunt Seat Rider, Academic Foundations at Centenary, Fundamental Theories of Riding, Management of Equestrian Activities, Farm Facility Design and Management, Basic Concepts of Training, and Practical Horse Management I and II.

Professor Simms is also the Coach of the Intercollegiate Dressage Team. In 2007 Professor Simms was awarded the Intercollegiate Dressage Association “Coach of the Year” award and in 2012 was inducted into the IDA Hall of Fame. Professor Simms continues to compete in the FEI dressage ring, as well as run her own dressage boarding and training facility.  Professor Simms joined the Centenary Equine Department in 1998.
