Dr. Fitzpatrick teaches courses in the Political and Governmental Affairs major and in the Global Studies major. A specialist in global security issues, he is also a frequent consultant on counter-terrorism training for the New Jersey Department of Homeland Security. His courses in the study of terrorism draw extensively from his practical professional work.
An advocate of experiential learning, Dr. Fitzpatrick teaches innovative courses in which students learn through role playing, notably Model United Nations, Model NATO, and Model Middle East Peace Conference. Through the Global Studies major, students have the opportunity to participate in global humanitarian relief missions in nearly all regions of the world.
Dr. Fitzpatrick is a frequent commentator on national and global events for regional media outlets.
