During my college search, Centenary was definitely in the mix. There were a few attributes that stuck out to make it my number one choice. For one, it is about 30 minutes from my house so it is very easy to go home when I feel like it. I also really enjoyed the tight-knit community Centenary has to offer. Everyone is very welcoming and I felt right at home immediately. The Centenary Women’s Basketball team also recruited me and I really wanted to play basketball after high school. All of these great elements factored in and helped me make my decision to go to Centenary. It was the best decision of my life!
As soon as I got to Centenary I knew I had chosen the correct school. I came in as an undecided student since I didn’t know what I wanted to do. My freshmen level courses helped me decide that I wanted to go into the business administration. As a sophomore entering my junior year, Centenary’s Career Development Center helped me land an internship. It was a great experience and also an amazing resume builder. The following summer I was lucky enough to get an internship with Selective Insurance, which is an amazing company to work for! I worked very hard all summer and even got to present to the C.E.O. and the President of the company! I was very grateful to have this opportunity. These past four years at Centenary have been nothing short of amazing and I am so lucky to call Centenary my home.
My ultimate goal after college was to work somewhere that I really enjoy going to every single day. I am lucky enough to have already accepted a full-time job with Selective Insurance after graduation. I had such a great experience in my internship that I believe it will be the same in my new position. I am very excited for this opportunity and where it will take me. Centenary has helped prepare me in so many different ways and I am forever grateful.
