Centenary University is proud to partner with the American Cancer Society to host our first Relay for Life in the John M. Reeves Gymnasium on April 5th, 2019.
The American Cancer Society Relay for Life movement is the worlds largest fundraising event to save lives from cancer. With 4,500 events uniting 3.7 million in 27 countries across the globe, we celebrate people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and take action for lifesaving change.
The American Cancer Society Relay For Life movement is a team fundraising event where team members take turns walking around a track or designated path. Our event will be 4 hours in length, and each team is asked to have a member on the track at all times to signify the ongoing fight against cancer.
In the months leading up to the event, Relay participants fund-raise both individually and as part of their team. They set personal and team goals and reach out to friends, family, and coworkers for donations and support.
At the event, each team sets up a themed campsite and continues their fundraising efforts by collecting donations for food, goods, games, and activities. This money will count towards their overall team fundraising goal.
Registration for university students, staff, and faculty only.
