International Student Admissions Counselor
Ms. Kimberly Ambler serves as an ESL Instructor/Tutor and International Student Admissions Counselor.
Born and raised in NJ, Ms. Ambler has received her Bachelor of Arts in Health and Exercise Science with a specialization in Fitness Management from Rowan University. She earned her Masters of Arts degree in Urban Education with a specialization in English As A Second Language (ESL) from New Jersey City University.
Ms. Ambler is a NJ state certified teacher of English As A Second Language, Health Education, and an Elementary School Teacher. She has taught in the public school systems for many years. Her extensive experience includes working in towns such as Sparta, Dover, Clifton, and Jersey City. She has taught various grade levels from kindergarten through eighth grade (K-8), ESL, and Bilingual/Spanish classes.
She has taught parenting classes, “Guiding Good Choices,” for Dover residents. She has also taught ESL classes for adult learners in the evenings at Dover High School.
She started her career as a Health Educator at the Passaic County Health Department. Here she educated the community on health issues/concerns. She went on to work with the American Red Cross as a Health and Safety Coordinator. One of her roles there was to coordinate the Health and Safety courses. This led her to become a volunteer instructor for First Aid/CPR/AED for Adults, Children, and Infants for the Lay Responder (community members) and for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers (lifeguards, fire fighters, law enforcement, nurses, physicians, athletic trainers, and EMT). She also taught Babysitter Training courses to local children in the community. Ms. Ambler visited local community locations, such as schools and assisted living centers to give presentations and educational seminars. She taught health and safety classes in the workplace for employees and employers as well as for community members in the local offices in Fairfield and Newton NJ. She taught courses in English and Spanish.
Ms. Ambler’s Hispanic heritage and passion for helping international students succeed in an academic setting brought her here to Centenary University. She is looking forward to teaching and working with the International Department faculty, staff, and students.
