Proceeds of the Concert Benefit the President’s Innovation Fund

January 26, 2018 – Centenary Stage Company and Centenary University present the virtuosic Americana band sensation, Sleepy Man, at 8 p.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at the Sitnik Theatre in the David and Carol Lackland Center as a special benefit concert to support the Centenary University President’s Innovation Fund.  Members of Sleepy Man include New Jersey’s Mizzone brothers and their friend Josh Thomas.

Sleepy Man has developed into a touring sensation since releasing their first album in 2011. Sleepy Man has appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman, performed at the Grand Ole Opry and performed at TED Conferences. The driving banjo and harmonies produce a unique sound best characterized as a fusion of Americana, folk, country, rock, pop and bluegrass.  The band recently released their new single “Feeling I’m Awake” to rave fan reviews.  Fans say, “you find yourself needing to move and tap along because the music is too infectious.” Many compare their sound reminiscent to Mumford & Sons or The Lumineers.

Advance tickets for Sleepy Man are $22.50 for adults and $17.50 children. Tickets increase $5.00 on the day of the performance.  All proceeds to benefit the Centenary University President’s Innovation Fund.  This Fund was created by Dr. Haney shortly after his tenure began at Centenary in July 2016.
