Internet addiction is defined as any online-related, compulsive behavior ( sex, gambling, gaming, etc.) that interferes with normal living and causes severe stress on family, friends, loved ones, and one’s work/school environment. It is a compulsive behavior that completely dominates the one’s life. The Internet becomes more important than family, friends, and work. It becomes the organizing principle of one’s life.
An eating disorder is not about food. Individuals may use food to hide or mask emotional discomfort just as easily as alcohol or drugs. But while drugs and alcohol can be avoided, food is necessary for life. An eating disorder can cause unpleasant and even life threatening health problems that affect both men and women.
If you feel you have an eating disorder, then take this confidential questionnaire: http://www.mentalhealthscreening.org/screening/Default.aspx?&n=1
