You won’t find lecture halls or courses being taught by teaching assistants here. Centenary professors teach all courses, with a focus on creating a collaborative and inclusive learning environment. Our students are an active and integral part of the process. You won’t have to wait to pursue your passion either; you’ll take courses for your major during your first semester.

Centenary students in the Enactus program apply business principles they’ve learned in class to help solve real-life issues. Applying course concepts to real life helps you learn.
Hands-on learning, from professors with real-world expertise, is essential to gaining knowledge that you can put to use when you graduate. Our strong Career Development Center offers amazing internships that assist you in finding a job after graduation.

Students from community (junior) colleges are allowed a maximum of 66 semester credit hours, which may be transferable to any Centenary baccalaureate program, to the extent that they are applicable to a particular program. A maximum of 90 credits from a four-year institution or combination of two and four-year institutions may be transferred.

Counselors are available to meet with you to review your credits and how they would apply to a Centenary degree, no application required. Contact the Office of Admissions to get started.

You can complete either Centenary’s secure online application or the Common Application. In addition to your application, we will need:

• Official transcripts from all colleges attended.
• Proof of high school graduation or the equivalent. If you have not earned at least 24 credits at your prior institution(s) you will need to submit an official high school transcript.
• Official SAT or ACT scores are recommended but not required.

All applications are evaluated on a rolling basis once all documents have been received. Decisions are typically released within 7-10 business days after we receive all of your required application documents. While we do accept applications on a rolling basis, we recommend submitting your application at least two weeks before the beginning of the semester in which you would like to begin classes. This will help to ensure that there is adequate time for the enrollment process, from mailing transcripts through registering for classes.

Once your file is complete, we will review it and make a decision regarding your admission. If you have completed 24 college-level credits or more, Centenary will base its admission decision on your collegiate course work. If you have completed less than 24 college-level credits, we will base our decision on a combination of your collegiate and secondary school course work.

Students with a cumulative GPA of 2.00 or better will be considered for admission to Centenary.

Beginning for Fall 2020 semester, students transferring into Centenary University having earned an A.A. or A.S. degree from a regionally accredited college or university in New Jersey will be considered to have completed all lower division university core curriculum requirements with the exception of prerequisites and/or major related courses that are required within the core. Students who earned a grade of D (+/-) as part of their Associate degree, may transfer in those credits, unless a higher grade is required for that course as indicated on the degree requirement audit sheet at Centenary University. A.A.S. and A.F.A. degrees will be evaluated on a course by course basis.

Centenary will begin to review your financial aid once you have been admitted. To ensure that we’re able to process your financial aid package in a timely manner, please include Centenary’s school code (002599) on your FAFSA. If you are not completing the FAFSA, please notify our Financial Aid Office as soon as possible.

In an effort to reward outstanding academic achievement, Centenary has established a variety of scholarships and awards to recognize our incoming students. Although many Centenary students demonstrate financial need, these awards are based solely on academic achievement and promise for excellent scholarship at Centenary. All students who apply for admission to Centenary University are considered for these awards.

Students remain eligible for their Transfer Admission Scholarships and Awards as long as they maintain continuous full-time enrollment and meet the minimum standards for satisfactory academic progress.

High school GPA or SAT/ACT scores may be required (to weight the college GPA) for review of scholarships for students with less than 24 credits earned prior to transfer.

Decided that Centenary is the perfect place for you? Congratulations! You can confirm your enrollment by submitting a deposit.

Commuter students should submit a $100 enrollment deposit, and resident students should submit a $300 deposit ($100 enrollment deposit, plus $200 housing deposit).

After submitting your deposit you’ll be able to register for classes for the upcoming semester. An enrollment counselor will meet with you personally to review your degree sequence and plan your courses. While you can register any time before the start of classes, we recommend completing this step as soon as possible to ensure that there is plenty of space in the courses you wish to take.
