The Delta Alpha Pi Honor Society (DAP) was founded in 2004 at East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania. Centenary University is the Theta Chapter of DAP and proudly recognizes the academic achievements of students with disabilities.
The three Greek letters stand for disability, achievement and pride. In order to be inducted into DAP, undergraduate students must complete a minimum of 24 credits (at Centenary University) and attain a cumulative GPA of 3.1. Graduate students must complete a minimum of 18 credits and earn a cumulative GPA of 3.3. An induction/cording ceremony is held each spring to recognize incoming members and graduating seniors. Family members are invited to participate in the celebration.
Delta Alpha Pi is committed to raising awareness regarding disabilities and facilitating the development of leadership and self-advocacy skills. A mentoring program is sponsored by DAP members to help students with disabilities transition into the university environment.
