Now available online! For students holding a master’s degree, Centenary University offers a special 12-credit program that allows you to complete the coursework needed to earn your Supervisor certification from the New Jersey Department of Education.

Supervisor licensure allows you to be employed as a supervisor of instruction and an athletic director (for those who do not hold a Principal’s certification) as well as an assistant superintendent in charge of curriculum or instruction.

To receive the Supervisor endorsement, the state requires you earn a master’s degree and complete coursework in curriculum, assessment and supervision. You can meet those course requirements through Centenary’s program by completing only four classes.

GED-550 Seminar in Curricular Evaluation and Assessment Strategies 3
GED-642 Case Studies in Supervision Case Studies 3
GED-650 Principles & Practices of Supervision 3
GED-651 Curriculum Development & Evaluation 3

Candidates without a master’s degree who would like to earn their Supervisor certification can incorporate those four courses into one of Centenary’s master’s programs in Education, including:

  • Master of Arts (M.A.) in Educational Leadership
  • Master of Arts (M.A.) in Instructional Leadership
  • Master of Arts (M.A.) in Special Education
  • Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Literacy Instruction
