Is a career in technology right for you?
The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science program focuses on the use of technology to manage information in a business context. Courses cover the design and development of software systems, Web applications, programming, data structures, and user interfaces as employed in a variety of real-world situations. A capstone experience allows students to use their accumulated knowledge of the field in project design and implementation.
Our CS major is intended to prepare students for a job as a Software Developer, a Technical Project or Program Manager, or a variety of other technical roles. The Centenary program combines both Computer Science and Data Analytics to provide students with a robust set of skills to stand out.
Our computer science program has been endorsed by Google and will help you succeed in one of the 200,000 open jobs in technology.
The impact of technology and networks on our lives, culture, and society continues to increase. The very fact that you can take the computer science courses from anywhere in the world requires a technological infrastructure that was designed, engineered, and built over the past sixty years. To function in an information-centric world, we need to understand the workings of network technology.
After taking this degree program, you will not take the Internet and Web for granted. You will be better informed about important technological issues currently facing society. You will realize that the Internet and Web are spaces for innovation and you will get a better understanding of how you might fit into that innovation. If you get excited about the material in this program, it is a great lead-in to taking a course in Web design, Web development, programming, or even network administration. At a minimum, you will be a much wiser network citizen.
