A Marketable Skill
The ability to express yourself in writing is a highly desirable skill in many career fields. Creative writing skills can help you present your ideas to a range of audiences from scientists to the business community.
Creative non-fiction may also be of particular interest if you anticipate a career that requires writing articles. This genre of writing combines subject area knowledge with creative writing skills to produce interesting and informative articles about your field.
Many schools favor teachers with a preparation in creative writing and many publishers hire students with a creative writing background as editors or communication professionals.
