Biography

Dr. Savorè earned her M.S. in Biological Sciences at the University of Pavia, Italy, focusing on Physical Anthropology with a project that applied histology to age at death determination of archaeological skeletal remains. She completed her Ph. D. at the same University working on Ancient DNA from archaeological skeletal remains. This project was done in collaboration with McMaster University, Canada, where she conducted some of the work, setting up the beginning of what later became the McMaster Ancient and Forensic DNA Centre.

Dr. Savorè continued her career with a first Postdoctoral position at the University of Delaware, where she studied the role of extracellular matrix in cancer metastasis, and a second Postdoctoral position at NYU School of Medicine working on TGF beta and endometrial carcinoma.

After a hiatus to raise her family, Dr. Savorè started a new career teaching as a biology tutor as well as an adjunct professor and has joined Centenary University in the Fall of 2023 where she is excited to have the chance to pass her love for the many aspects of biology to the students.
