Academic Accomplishments

  • Ph.D in Chemistry, Duquesne University. Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, 2013
  • M.S., Chemical Engineering, Université de Annaba, Algeria, 2002
  • B.S., Chemical engineering, Université de Annaba. Algeria, 1998

Biography

Dr. Frites obtained his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from l’Université de Annaba, Algeria. His Master’s thesis focused on the extraction of Cr(VI) from aqueous solutions using liquid surfactant membrane (LSM). After working in Ammonia plant Dr. Frites continued his education at Duquesne University, Pittsburgh where he earned a Ph.D degree in Chemistry. His doctoral research was on the photoelectrochemical water splitting to generate hydrogen using semiconductor electrodes.  He later accepted a postdoctoral scholar position at California Institute of Technology where he worked on the electrochemical reduction of CO2 to value added products.

Dr. Frites has a long experience teaching Chemistry and laboratory techniques, he is committed to students’ success at Centenary University.
