What is Beta Beta Beta?

The Omega Rho Chapter of Beta Beta Beta, also known as Tri-Beta, is an honor society designed for students interested in the sciences who are dedicated to improving the understanding and appreciation of scientific research. The Omega Rho Chapter of Centenary University was established in 2010. Originally it was founded in 1922, and since then more than 553 chapters have been established. Students who have become Tri-Beta members of Centenary University participated in field trips, research presentations, conferences, campus events and projects.

How will joining Beta Beta Beta benefit me?

The Omega Rho Chapter of Beta Beta Beta is a biological honors society that rewards students who are interested in the biological field or other related sciences. This is a society where you can continue to make new friends, excel in the life sciences, collaborate with students and professors on research projects, and continue to advance your professional career.

Membership Requirements (including national requirements)
To become a Beta Beta Beta member, you must meet all of the following criteria:

  • You must have completed a minimum of 12 science credit hours.
  • You must have a GPA of at least a 3.0.
  • You must be a student in good academic standing with Centenary University.
  • Each member must complete a minimum of 5 meetings per semester.
  • Each member must complete a minimum of 10 hours per semester in participation of the events and/or service projects hosted by Beta Beta Beta.*
    *(Required hours may vary depending upon number of events).

Membership Fees

Regular Membership: $55.00

  • You have completed a minimum of 12 science credit hours.
  • You have a GPA of at least a 3.0.
  • You are in good academic standing with Centenary University.

Associate Membership: $40.00

  • You have NOT completed a minimum of 12 science credit hours.
  • You have a GPA of at least a 3.0.
  • You are in good academic standing with Centenary University.
