Dr. Valori: A Visionary in Security and Leadership
With over a decade as the president of The Valori Group and Royal Security Services, Dr. Valori embodies excellence in security and investigative consultancy. His expertise spans personal protection, civil intelligence, surveillance operations, insurance fraud investigations, and comprehensive security assessments. He has led groundbreaking work in matrimonial and child custody cases, as well as locating missing persons.
He began his distinguished law enforcement career as a Detective in Internal Affairs for the Morris County Sheriff’s Office, later retiring as a Detective Sergeant from the Parsippany-Troy Hills Police Department after 25 years of service. Dr. Valori also served the nation as a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve, Military Police, with 28 years of service, holding a leadership role in the prestigious 1st Brigade, 78th Division Training Support.
A lifelong learner, Dr. Valori holds a Doctorate in Education, complemented by an Education Specialist degree, Master’s degrees in Public Administration and Education, and a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice — all from Seton Hall University. Demonstrating his deep commitment to education and public service, he served on the Parsippany Board of Education and later as Council President of the Parsippany-Troy Hills Township Council. He also chaired the Philadelphia Sheriff’s Office Transition Team. Whether conducting law enforcement efficiency studies, advising municipalities, or leading police chief selection processes, Dr. Valori’s unparalleled expertise makes him a cornerstone of modern security leadership.
Chief Richards exemplifies dedication and innovation in public safety and organizational leadership. As the Manager for a private nonprofit organization in Sussex County, he oversees an extensive operation with a $3 million budget, a large Board of Directors, and a staff of nearly 200 employees and volunteers. Before this, Chief Richards served as the Police Chief of Newton, NJ, spearheading initiatives that transformed community safety and law enforcement training.
A graduate of the esteemed West Point Command & Leadership Program, Chief Richards has held pivotal roles, from County PBA President to County Police Chiefs' Association President. His leadership helped establish Sussex County’s 9/11 Memorial and the county’s first indoor law enforcement training range. Passionate about tackling societal challenges, Chief Richards co-founded the Sussex County C.L.E.A.R. Program to combat the opioid epidemic—a nationally recognized model replicated in communities across the United States.
