Centenary University Alert: Centenary University will move to online instruction for the remainder of the semester, per executive order by NJ Gov. Murphy.

Programming is a great way to get a large number of students on campus involved and enjoying themselves. The Student Government Association would like to see all clubs and organizations helping engage students throughout the semester, through hosting programs of their own. Programming is also a great way to potentially gain new members.

All Student Government Association recognized clubs that would like to remain active on the Centenary University campus, must host a minimum of two (2) programs per semester. In order for a program to meet the Student Government Association requirements, it must:

  • Be open to all students on campus
  • Not be a repeat of a Student Activities program from the same semester
  • Not be a club meeting

Some programs may require funding from the Student Government Association, but may exceed your club’s budget. If a program that you are looking to host will exceed your budget, you may contact the Director of Student Engagement, Allison Galvin, to possibly have Student Activities supplement your budget help host the program. If Student Activities is unable to help supplement your budget to host the program, you are encouraged to ask other clubs to join you in hosting the program.

The programs you host should be something that will interest the general student population of Centenary University, and potentially help educate students on your club’s mission and goals. Should your club find yourself idea-less, you may contact the VP of Clubs and Organizations for help finding ideas. The VP of Clubs and Organizations will be able to give you resources to help you find program ideas, they will NOT give you complete ideas or plan your programs for you.

Clubs may not do any type of movie program without purchasing the rights for the movie prior to the program. If you are interested in doing a movie program, please contact the VP of Clubs & Organizations to find out how to purchase the movie rights.

Once you have an idea and plan for your program, you must submit a printed Program Proposal/Funding Request Form (Section 8) to the VP of Clubs and Organization a minimum or three (3) weeks or 15 business days prior to the program date for approval. Your request will be voted on by the Student Government Association Executive Board, and you will receive an email from the VP of Clubs & Organizations either approving or denying your Program Proposal/Funding Request. The Student Government Association Advisor may overturn any decision the Executive Board makes regarding programming and funding.

A Program/Funding Report must be submitted within 48 hours of your program.
