Work Study Options
Get on-the-job experience and earn money that can help defray your expenses with Federal Work Study or our own Campus Work Study program.
Working part time at Centenary during the academic year and full-time over the summer can help you pay for your education and expenses and adds valuable experience that can make you more attractive to future employers.
Federal Work Study
This U.S. Department of Education program funds up to 50% of your wages when you get a campus job as part of this program. Some jobs, like math or reading tutors, are 100% funded by the government. To qualify, you will work in a variety of jobs at Centenary.
You start the application process when you fill out your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form.
Campus Work Study
These jobs are funded directly by Centenary, not the federal government. When you apply for the federal program above, you are also included as a candidate in this program. Be sure to send us your resume and follow up with us directly.
If you are a RETURNING student employee/work-study:
Step 1 – Complete the Student Section of the Student Employment Contract. Please type your digital signature on the form and email it to your Supervisor for their digital signature. Your Supervisor will then type their digital signature on the form and they will forward it to Financial Aid along with a job description. Be sure to download and save the document before completing it. Do not print the form or obtain handwritten signatures.
Please note the following:
- You will receive an email from Human Resources once you are approved to begin working. You may not start working without this approval. Typical processing time is between 5-10 business days. If you have any questions, please contact Human Resources at workstudy@centenaryuniversity.edu
- Setting up Direct Deposit of your paycheck is highly recommended.
If you are a NEW (first time) student employee/work-study:
Step 1 – Complete the Student Section of the Student Employment Contract. Please type your digital signature on the form and email it to your Supervisor for their digital signature. Your Supervisor will then type their digital signature on the form and they will forward it to Financial Aid along with a job description. Be sure to download and save the document before completing it. Do not print the form or obtain handwritten signatures.
Step 2 – Complete and email ALL of the following forms to Human Resources at Be sure to download and save the documents before completing them. Please submit your completed forms by email only. Paper copies will not be accepted.
- Agreement Concerning Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure
- Direct Deposit Authorization
- Employment Application
- Form I-9 AND a copy of your I-9 Documents (refer to the I-9 List of Acceptable Documents)
- Form W-4
- Personal Data Form
Please note the following:
- Your paperwork will not be accepted unless you include ALL required documents. If ALL required documents are not emailed together to Human Resources, this will delay the start of your student employment/work-study position.
