Reasons to Choose Centenary
Education doesn't need to be institutional.
You won’t find lecture halls or courses being taught by teaching assistants here. Centenary professors teach all courses, with a focus on creating a collaborative and inclusive learning environment. Our students are an active and integral part of the process. You won’t have to wait to pursue your passion either; you’ll take courses for your major during your first semester.
You need to develop your individual talents and interests.
Leadership opportunities, such as NCAA Division III athletics and more than 30 clubs and student organizations, allow you to grow and stand out. Centenary students in the Enactus program apply business principles they’ve learned in class to help solve real-life issues. Recently they went to Guapi, Columbia to assist those in need by helping local artisans establish a sustainable business.
A safe and supportive environment is important to learning.
Our safe, 107-acre campus features a diverse community of welcoming students who’ll make you feel right at home. We strongly encourage you to visit the beautiful campus in Hackettstown, New Jersey. There’s really no better way to realize the opportunities that await you than to see for yourself with your own eyes.
A well-rounded education should be affordable.
We prepare students for the careers of today and tomorrow through a diverse liberal arts education. With many scholarships, awards, and grants available, Centenary is likely more affordable than you think.

Personalized education is important.
With a 17:1 student-to-faculty ratio, our small, private, non-profit university ensures you’ll receive individual attention from professors and staff who truly care. You are a person, never a number.
Applying course concepts to real life helps you learn.
Hands-on learning, from professors with real-world expertise, is essential to gaining knowledge that you can put to use when you graduate. Our strong Career Development Center offers amazing internships that assist you in finding a job after graduation.
