Centenary University’s Biology program will provide you with a strong foundation in the field of biology while you explore a wide variety of interests within the natural and health sciences. Our Biology program provides a well-rounded education with courses in biology, chemistry, physics, animal and human anatomy, ecology, microbiology, genetics and biochemistry. These courses are the foundational courses needed to pursue a career in the natural or health sciences. Our Biology degree can prepare you for the degree you want and each of these Biology programs could help you in your pursuits.

The Natural and Health Sciences at Centenary University stands out for its strong emphasis on exploration, fostering a dynamic and immersive learning environment. With dedicated faculty mentors and state-of-the-art laboratory facilities, students are provided ample opportunities to engage in hands-on research projects that span a wide range of biological disciplines. Centenary University is the home of the Omega Rho Chapter of Beta Beta Beta or Tri-Beta Biological Honor Society, which is a prestigious organization that recognizes and celebrates academic excellence in the field of biology. Committed to promoting scholarship, leadership, and a deeper understanding of biological sciences, Tri-Beta provides a platform for students to engage in enriching educational experiences beyond the classroom. The next level

Graduate School: As a Centenary Biology major, you can fulfill all of the requirements for graduate studies in various fields of biology, as well as for medical, dental or chiropractic school.

Careers: Our graduates easily transition directly into careers in biotechnology, health care and research.

Teaching: Through Centenary’s teacher preparation program, you can also become certified to teach biology in New Jersey.

Internships: In addition to our strong academic program, you will be ready for what lies ahead by participating in internships in industries including pharmaceuticals, environmental science and medical and health science. These internships are matched with students’ interests and often result in employment opportunities after graduation.
