Sports management

In our Bachelor of Science (BS) in Business Administration: Sports Management and Entertainment Concentration, you will learn about all the different aspects of the sports industry. Through internships, job shadowing, and other hands-on experiences, you will have the opportunity to experience firsthand what it is like to work in fields such as sales and marketing, operations, and sports information. The Sports Management curriculum covers all the foundational Business Administration courses in areas including accounting, marketing, and finance. Students advance into sports-related courses such as sports marketing, leadership in sports, sponsorship, business development, and professional selling in sports.

Be part of the action

The Sports Management program emphasizes the importance of experiential learning. Classes have the opportunity to shadow professionals in the industry and run events on campus as well as in professional settings. An Event Management class from Centenary had the opportunity to run a concession stand during the Super Bowl at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.

You will also have numerous opportunities to gain experience in different aspects of the sports industry through the student-run Sports Management Association (SMA). This group brings together students interested in the industry and helps connect them with opportunities to further develop as professionals and volunteer in the community.

For New Jersey entry-level roles aligned to BS in Business Administration: Concentration Sports and Entertainment Management, a reasonable starting range is approximately $42,000–$60,000, depending on role, licensure/certification, employer type, and prior experience.
