HACKETTSTOWN, NJ, AUG. 27, 2026— Centenary University welcomed more than 100 freshmen and nearly 100 transfer undergraduate students from more than 10 states for its fall semester move-in day on Friday, August 21, 2026, in Hackettstown, New Jersey. Orientation weekend for the fall semester, titled “Storm the Campus,” included a convocation, barbeque, dunk tank, comedy show, foam pit, and more for students to get acquainted with Centenary campus life.

Friday morning began with upperclassmen assisting freshmen moving in and John R. Schol, DMin, President of Centenary University, announcing this year’s Hill Scholarship recipient, Charlotte Sampson.

A barbeque and involvement fair followed at Anderson Field, showcasing a variety of clubs, organizations, and opportunities for civic engagement. The Hackettstown Business Improvement District, Trinity Church, Katarina Floral, and other local businesses attended to give students a glimpse into life in Hackettstown.

The annual Presidential Welcome and Convocation was held in the Sitnik Theater, featuring alumnus Darnell Burnett, Class of 2022 and senior auditor at Ernst & Young, as the keynote speaker who offered guidance to incoming freshmen and their families. “Invest in yourself,” Burnett said. “Be the author of your own story.”
