Members of the Public Are Invited to a Ribbon-Cutting for the Renovated Science Laboratories at Trevorrow Hall

Hackettstown, N.J. – Centenary University will be holding a ribbon-cutting at 4:30 p.m. on March 31, 2016 at Trevorrow Hall, which houses the newly renovated science laboratories.  Dr. Barbara-Jayne Lewthwaite, Centenary University President, and Dr. Lauren Bergey, Chair of the Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences and Associate Professor of Biology, will address the attendees.  There will be a reception after the ceremony and those who attend will have the opportunity to meet Centenary faculty and staff.  Members of the community are invited to this event.

The renovation of Trevorrow Hall transformed the existing laboratories for Biology, Chemistry and Physics classes into modern facilities with new laboratories, technology, fittings and lighting.  A new elevator was also built which opens up to a student lounge space on each floor.

The renovation was made possible in part through the State of New Jersey’s Building Our Future Bond Act, 2012’s voter-approved bond program for higher education capital improvements and through philanthropic gifts from Centenary University’s alumni and friends, such as Carol Harvey Barrows ’61 and Bill Barrows.

“The new and improved Trevorrow Hall serves as a state-of-the-art workplace for the College’s burgeoning population of science students,” says Dr. Barbara-Jayne Lewthwaite.  “Many thanks to the State of New Jersey and our supporters.  Without your commitment, this would not have been possible.”
