Hackettstown, N.J., April 11, 2017 – NBC 4 New York / WNBC meteorologist, Erica Grow, , will speak at Centenary University as part of the Earth Day celebrations at 6 PM. on April 18, 2017 at the Edith M. Bolte Kutz’ 42 Black Box Theater in the David and Carol Lackland Center located at 715 Grand Avenue in Hackettstown. Grow will discuss the following topics: “Meteorology and Air Quality” and “Science Careers for Women.” There will be a Q&A session after Grow’s presentation. This discussion is free and open to the public.

“I am pleased to speak to students of Centenary University and members of the community about the importance of STEM careers,” says Grow.  “Technology is a powerful tool, and Storm Team 4 has the very latest, cutting-edge forecasting tools at our disposal. I look forward to a lively discussion and sharing my career path.”

This opportunity will be part of the Earth Day celebration at the institution. In addition to Grow’s presentation, there will be a showing of the film “The Human Experiment” at 6 p.m. in the Student Activities Center (SAC) on April 19, 2017 and Earth Day festivities from 10 AM to 3 PM. on April 22, 2017.

Grow is the NBC 4 New York / WNBC meteorologist for the weekend editions of “News 4 New York” at 6 PM and 11 PM. Grow forms part of the Storm Team 4, the station’s most trusted weather team, keeping viewers in the Tri-State area informed by providing the latest weather information in real-time. Grow, a scientist at heart, loves nothing more than sharing her passion for weather and science with others. As a STEM mentor (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) through the National Girls Collaborative Project, Grow volunteered at the Franklin Institute Science Museum in Philadelphia speaking to thousands of school children of all ages about the amazing science of weather.
