HACKETTSTOWN — With four days ahead of them before their first day of classes, new students at Centenary University in Hackettstown moved into their new living quarters starting at 9 a.m. Saturday with a little help from Dr. David Haney, who will begin his first year as the university’s president.
With golf carts prepared to carry students’ luggage and the new president prepared to help out and greet new students, parents gave their final hugs good-bye to their children as they unpacked their belongings in their new living quarters and headed to a welcome session inside the campus’s Sitnik Theater.
Orientation continued with more activities on Sunday. Today is Community Plunge Day, a day-long community service project for all incoming students. The first day of classes is Wednesday.
