History of ENACTUS

Founded in 1975, originally as SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise), ENACTUS is a non-profit educational organization that works with business and higher education. It provides college students with the leadership experience of establishing a variety of community outreach programs that teach others how market economics and business operate.

ENACTUS business supporters (individuals, corporations, and foundations) provide financial support for ENACTUS competitions, serve as judges and competition coordinators, and provide funds for prize money and trophies awarded to winning teams. By partnering businesses with higher education, ENACTUS creates career building connections between college students and ENACTUS donors.

ENACTUS at Centenary University

For over ten years at Centenary University, more than 1,000 students have participated in ENACTUS projects and presentations. Our team members hail from more than thirty-five countries across five continents, with a range of more than fifteen different majors. Their participation has included the development and implementation of more than 100 socially focused projects that have positively impacted our campus, local community and even abroad.

The Centenary University Enactus team tackles projects that range from local to global, including trips that have brought them to places as far as Singapore and Colombia, but they all have one thing in common: identifying people in need and helping them to help themselves through the positive power of business. We have an award-winning team, receiving many times over, the Regional Champion title and National recognition for its projects.
